A BIT ABOUT ME

I have always thought I was too big and needed to get smaller. My stomach. My thighs. My arms. My face. Diets worked great to shrink down… until I ruined the diet by eating too many points or eating past 6 p.m. or eating cake at a birthday party. It seemed obvious that they only thing that would ever make me truly happy was being skinny.

The number I weighed at my morning scale weigh-in affected my mood, my outlook, my decisions that day. How my clothes fit indicated my level of worthiness or success, and decided whether or not I could go out and have fun or just eat veggies and “be good” for the day.

After another diet would fail, and my “cheat day” would turn into a “cheat month,” I felt bad about my lack of discipline. Social Media exacerbated that shame, sprinkles on the cupcake I already shouldn’t have been eating.

I even prayed, fervently, “God, as long as I am never fat, I will be a good person, I promise.”

And then, I was mindlessly Google searching one day about how to stick to a diet and found what would take me on my favorite life journey yet: intuitive eating.

I am here to ask you to reconsider if doing what you have always done is going to turn out differently this time.  I am passionate about helping you make peace with food, free yourself from dieting on and off, and rediscover the joy of eating and movement. And no, there are no before or after pictures or weight loss goals on this journey.

Work with intuitive eating is actually much deeper and more satisfying than any weight loss success you've ever experienced, and helps you work on yourself while you work on your relationship with food and exercise. Your relationship with food, exercise, and your body affects everything.

If you are ready to trust yourself to try something new, love yourself and others around you, and feel like a new version of yourself in your body, I’d love to join you on that journey.

My Background

I am an educator and facilitator.

My Bachelor's degree is in Secondary Education and my Master's degree is in Elementary Education. I have also worked as a religious educator and faith formation coordinator for the past six years. Most recently I have received my certification as an Intuitive Eating Facilitator and Counselor. People bring out my best side. I love to have meaningful conversations that inspire change.

I support accessible education.

It is hard to access counseling, coaching, personal training, and dieticians unless you can easily navigate insurance. I think it is important we find creative ways to give people access to answer their questions. One of those ways is to educate ourselves about topics we struggle with so we know what we need.

I support women.

In every endeavor. Empowering women empowers everyone. I hope to always promote and explore women's perspectives and voices. I love to explore spirituality through a feminine perspective.

I support families and children.

Our children are watching us and absorbing all that we say and do. Let's be our best selves to inspire them to be confident, joyful, and hopeful.

I am an educator. I am a mother. I am a feminist. I am a believer.
